Between Appointments
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have adequate access to your medication. If you run out of refills between appointments, please contact Dr. Schroeder (or have your pharmacy contact her) to let her know. If you are having problems with affording medication or with your prescription drug benefits, please contact Dr. Schroeder so we may consider an alternative.
If you are doing poorly and need to be seen sooner than we had originally planned, CALL DR. SCHROEDER to schedule an extra appointment! CALL 911 OR IMMEDIATELY REPORT TO THE NEAREST EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT if you are experiencing a significant mental health crisis such as acute suicidality or homicidality, bipolar mania, decompensated psychosis, etc. CALL DR. SCHROEDER (or have a friend or family member call her) to let her know if you have either been hospitalized or seen in the Emergency Department for psychiatric reasons. |
InsuranceDr. Schroeder does not accept commercial insurance, but can provide you with a receipt that you may submit to your insurance company in an attempt to obtain reimbursement for "out-of-network" services.
Please contact your insurance company ahead of time to determine whether or not you have out-of-network benefits. Please be aware that the reimbursement rate is typically lower when you use out-of-network providers, and will be based on the insurance company's pre-determined fee schedule, not on Dr. Schroeder's rates. Please also be advised that reimbursement from your insurance company will be related to your diagnosis and the type of treatment provided (these will be indicated on your receipt). Even if you have out-of-network benefits, certain diagnoses and/or treatment combinations may not be approved for coverage by your insurer. While payment is due to Dr. Schroeder at the time of your appointment, Dr. Schroeder makes no guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you. (Note: If your insurance includes prescription drug benefits, prescriptions written by Dr. Schroeder will typically be covered, even though she is not a network provider. If you are having problems with your prescription drug benefits [pre-authorization requirements, etc] please be sure to let Dr. Schroeder know.) |
PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU ARE A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER OF A PATIENT WHO IS EXPERIENCING A MENTAL HEALTH EMERGENCY YOU SHOULD CALL 911 EVEN IF THE PATIENT STATES THAT THEY DO NOT WANT HELP.
